The Stand Up For Pits Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to ending abuse, discrimination and saving the lives of pit bull "type" dogs.
The SUFP Foundation exists all because of one rescued, velvety, inherently good hippo named Angel. Angel is the inspiration for all we do and the reason this store even exists. Angel and the millions like her who have and continue to endure heinous acts of violence and discrimination at the hands of humans desperately need our voices and help. The abuse and discrimination these dogs endure simply because of how they look is deplorable and intolerable.
SUFP believes the old ways are not working and it's on us to do and think differently if we expect to see real change. We are outspoken and believe in accountability and are willing to try new things in order to create the much needed change our society and communities need.
On May 3rd, 2014 we made US history when we organized and marched on Washington DC in the "one million PIBBLE march on washington dc." An estimated 4500-5000 people from all over the world converged on the West Lawn of our nations capitol as one loud voice in an effort to raise awareness about abuse and discrimination. Specifically, the dogfighting epidemic and the ignorance that is BSL (Breed Specific Legislation).
The SUFP Foundation created, funds and operates a dogfighting tip line serving the over 10 million residents of Los Angeles County (1-877-777-2585). The Stand Up For Pits live events around the country continue to raise thousands of dollars for pit bull "type" dog nonprofits, have helped place dogs in loving forever homes, has and continues to raise national and international awareness and in 2015, our SUFP Donation Drive raised an estimated $25.000.00 worth of much needed shelter supplies for America's shelter animals.
We donate thousands every year to programs, front line rescue efforts, high medical needs cases and to individuals needing financial assistance.
Profits from all our merchandise goes directly to the Stand Up For Pits Foundation. Saving lives is a group effort and there is power in numbers. We want communities to be safe for humans and pets and believe together we can make that happen. Our hope is to one day shut this store and the SUFP Foundation down because abuse and discrimination no longer exists. We look forward to the day where the millions of innocent lives lost and the heinous acts of violence suffered by so many will be a distant and shameful memory in American history never to be repeated again.
